Mountain Lion Siting in unincorporated Redwood City

At approximately 9:50 PM a mountain lion was seen in the vicinity of Lakeview &
Woodland Streets in Emerald Hills, Unincorporated San Mateo County (Redwood
City), California.

If you see a mountain lion DO NOT APPROACH IT, especially one that is feeding or
with offspring. Most mountain lions will try to avoid confrontation.

Here are a few tips:

1) Avoid hiking or jogging when mountain lions are most active—dawn, dusk, and at
     night.

2) Keep a close watch on small children.

3) If you encounter a mountain lion, do not run; instead, face the animal, make
noise and try to look bigger by waving your arms; throw rocks or other objects.

4) Pick up small children.
