Due to circumstances beyond my control, and for personal reasons, the team of All Walks Of Life will not be participating in this year's NAMIwalks2010 at Speedway Meadow in Golden Gate Park, SFO. I have decided to walk individually this year. If anyone is still interested in going to the 5k walk, check with other teams online at www.nami.org to see if they might need more members. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a safe walk.

Local Security Issues
This week, a co-worker and other fellow co-workers that I work with at a local security company, we had an issue with our security equipment not working properly, and one co-worker wrote this note that I am posting here.
"During my patrol, I noticed that there were several Detex Buttons that were not properly registering, or none at all. Any officer that notices the same problem they are having on their shift are to make a note of it and report it to the supervisor on duty and to our client or R/P. This is an unfair act that we as officers are putting in the extra work to perform our jobs correctly. It messes with our time gaps and leads to so many discrepancies. Another security post is having the same problem as we are here at our security post. Some of the detex buttons are old, and need to be replaced as soon as possible or until we get the ok from our account manager. I and other officers as well have been sending our Irregularity Reports up north, and have received no responses back, from management. If many officers were to speak up, and complain about the security equipment failing about on post, it might just be corrected and in the amount of time it takes, and as quickly as possible, so that we can all get in a good day of work done." Officer Moore.
Now I, and many security officers for the local security company, we all agree on this issue, and we do need the correct equipment to work with, but we can't get our jobs done if no security equipment is repaired, corrected or replaced with new equipment, much like our security truck with a nonfunctional window on the driver side of the security vehicle. The security truck recently went to the repair shop and only the disc drums and brakes were replaced but the driver side window was refused service, I and many officers our concerned that someone might discover that the driver side window will be easy access to push downward climb into the truck cabin and take off with the darn vehicle from our post, never to see that security vehicle again. Management acknowledges this issue, but does not want to do anything about it. So, how is a security vehicle supposed to be safe for us to utilize, when apparently it is not a safe vehicle for us, when a small or big problem has gone around for so long? Until one of us fixes that problem on our own? Sometimes it is handled, sometimes not. all we can do is hope, and pray that something gets done right for a change. We ask those to help out our security firm with whatever, so that we can continue to provide security 24/7, and to make our neighborhoods once again, as completely safe as possible. We really do need it. Cheers.

Breaking up is hard to do
How many times have we all heard "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do"? Well let me tell you my story of it. In Early January of this year, 2010. I met a real sweet gal online from a local dating site. Since meeting her, we have exchanged emails, text messages, phone calls, even on facebook. We have met in person, she met some of my family members, I met some of her family members as well, She is from Newark, CA I am from Redwood City, CA we are about 30 minutes away from each other. For two months we have gone out together going to places, exchanging our love for each other, like most romantic couples would do when they are in love. The next day, this week, I get the "It's not you, it's me speech" text message. She is breaking up with me, because we are too different, and that were both looking for different things. Now, what exactly is she looking for, and she hasn't said anything to me about this since we met. I have told her what I am looking for, I told her all about me, I gave her my pros and cons, what I like to do and what I don't like to do, and what I'm willing to try, but I don't get anything back from her except for 3 daughters, one is 18 and at San Jose State, studying to become an animated artist, the other two are 3 year old twins with divorced parents, meaning her, and her two ex's. Her 3 year old twins are getting the child support from their fathers, I offered to help out, she say's no that's ok, don't worry about it, ok I won't but at some point in time, I will. She and her daughter's live at home with her parents, both are retired and at living peacefully 24/7. She works full time and her 18 year old works part time on the weekends. Her 3 year olds are being taken care of by their babysitter and sometimes, her parents. Her 18 year old does help out with the baby sitting as well, when both the baby sitter and the parents are not at home. So I think that is all she told me, but I still have not heard the full story of her, or of her pros and cons, I did get the likes and dislikes from her, but no, I have not read the full story of all about her. She only told me a couple of chapters about her. If you read all about me, you will see that there are 10 chapters about me that are worth reading. So now I am thinking, since the break up, why does love suck? Why is it that the nice guys like us, are the ones being dumped by problematic women? (no offense, but I am at the beginning point of my break up). And, I never really got the reasonable decision from her of why the breakup, and I probably never will, but that's ok now, because the next person I meet, I am going to be prepared for a new relationship and not make the same mistake from the previous relationship. And it was going so well, I just don't get it, but who cares? I'm moving on, I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off, and I am going to start again, but with a refreshed state of mind. I'm open to comments and feedback, so please, leave your thoughts. Thanks.

STATIC ELECTRICITY
Shell Oil Comments - A MUST READ!
Safety Alert!
Here are some reasons why we don't allow cell phones in operating areas, propylene oxide handling and storage area, propane, gas and diesel refueling areas.
The Shell Oil Company recently issued a warning after three incidents in which mobile ph ones (cell phones) ignited fumes during fueling operations
In the first case, the phone was placed on the car's trunk lid during fueling; it rang and the ensuing fire destroyed the car and the gasoline pump.
In the second, an individual suffered burns to their face when fumes ignited as they answered a call while refueling their car!
And in the third, an individual suffered burns to the thigh and groin as fumes ignited when the phone, which was in their pocket, rang while they were fueling their car.
You should know that:
Mobile Phones can ignite fuel or fumes
Mobile phones that light up when switched on or when they ring release enough energy to provide a spark for ignition
Mobile phones should not be used in filling stations, or when fueling lawn mowers, boat, Etc.
Mobile phones should not be used, or should be turned off, around other materials that generate flammable or explosive fumes or dust, (i.e., solvents, chemicals, gases, grain dust, etc.)
To sum it up, here are the: Four Rules for Safe Refueling
1) Turn off engine

3) Don't use your cell phone - leave it inside the vehicle or turn it off
4) Don't re-enter your vehicle during fueling
Bob Renkes of Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of 'static electricity' at gas pumps. His company has researched 150 cases of these fires.
His results were very surprising:
Bob Renkes of Petroleum Equipment Institute is working on a campaign to try and make people aware of fires as a result of 'static electricity' at gas pumps. His company has researched 150 cases of these fires.
His results were very surprising:
1) Out of 150 cases, almost all of them were women.
2) Almost all cases involved the person getting back in their vehicle while the nozzle was still pumping gas. When finished, they went back to pull the nozzle out and the fire started, as a result of static.
3) Most had on rubber-soled shoes.
4) Most men never get back in their vehicle until completely finished. This is why they are seldom involved in these types of fires.
5) Don't ever use cell phones when pumping gas
6) It is the vapors that come out of the gas that cause the fire, when connected with static charges.
7) There were 29 fires where the vehicle was re-entered and the nozzle was touched during refueling from a variety of makes and models. Some resulted in extensive damage to the vehicle, to the station, and to the customer.
8) Seventeen fires occurred before, during or immediately after the gas cap was removed and before fueling began.
Mr. Renkes stresses to NEVER get back into your vehicle while filling it with gas.
If you absolutely HAVE to get in your vehicle while the gas is pumping, make sure you get out, close the door TOUCHING THE METAL, before you ever pull the nozzle out. This way the static from your body will be discharged before you ever remove the nozzle.
As I mentioned earlier, The Petroleum Equipment Institute, along with several other companies now, are really trying to make the public aware of this danger. You can find out more information by going to Once here, click in the center of the screen where it says 'Stop Static'.
I ask you to please send this information to ALL your family and friends, especially those who have kids in the car with them while pumping gas. If this were to happen to them, they may not be able to get the children out in time Thanks for passing this along.

My Nephew is Artistic From the Heart
Today, my sister comes over and tells my mother that, my nephew got in trouble for drawing an imitated portrait in school. At first I thought ok well, what did he draw this time and how bad was it? Then my sister told us that he had drew a Mexican Portrait of a legendary Mexican Hero, but that it was a religious portrait drawn in school. Now, the schools may have a policy on what to draw and what not to draw in art class, but dog gone it!! My nephew draws from the heart, and his drawings someday will make him professionally artistic and financially rich!! And if his Art Teacher can't see it, too freaking bad!! No one, and I don't care what the policy is for how the way they want you to draw, but no one, should tell you what can you draw and can't you draw, especially if it comes from the mind and of the heart! So to those non-artistical reciprocratical critics, I say, "Puras Papas!!" And to my nephew, keep drawing what's in your mind, and from what's in your heart. Draw on my little buddy! Draw on!

Boost Your Energy
Human beings are made up of approximately 70 percent water. If you are not drinking enough, if you are dehydrated, then your bodyslows its circulation and, in turn, your energy goes tumbling on down. Drink a glass right now, so that you are energized while reading the rest of these refreshing tips! Bottoms up!
Approximately 50-60% of your brain is pure fat. The fat serves as insulation for your brain’s billions of nerve cells. The better insulated the cells, the faster your brain sends messages and the speedier your thinking. Eat a mix ofhealthyfats
for energy and productivity! Here are few excellent choices: wild salmon, mackerel, anchovies, dark green leafy vegetables, or avocado.
A simple, quick walk around the block can do wonders for your energy level. The fresh air and movement prove to be a mighty combo. Walking gets your heart a pumpin’, and once again, the blood rushes to your brain, energizing those tired, slumping braincells
!
Hope this helps!!!
